TRANSPARENT FEES

What a venue pays

Best DJ adds a 10% booking commission to the artist’s performance fee. The artist separately pays 10% from their side. Nothing is hidden: the figures are shown on every quote before you accept.

  • No card payments taken by the website
  • No commission on VAT or itemised expenses
  • Your messages are private to you, the artist and Best DJ

WORKED EXAMPLE

QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Which areas do you cover?

England is our main booking market and we welcome enquiries from anywhere in the UK. Best DJ is run from a head office in Lincoln; we do not have local offices in other towns. Whether a particular artist can travel to you is agreed with that artist for each booking.

What does Best DJ charge a venue?

A 10% booking commission is added on top of the artist’s performance fee. On a £500.00 performance fee that is £50.00, so the total is £550.00 before any VAT and separately itemised expenses. Commission is never charged on VAT or on travel, equipment or accommodation costs.

Do I pay through the website?

No. Best DJ does not take card payments or hold money. The quote records the agreed payment schedule between you and the artist, and the website only shows figures you have both agreed.

Why does my venue need to be reviewed?

Before you can send an enquiry, Best DJ manually reviews your business details and your confirmation that you have authority to book. Review means a person has checked the submission; it is not an identity, credit or payment guarantee.

Is there a contract?

Each approved booking has a printable agreement draft with the agreed fee, commission and terms, and blank spaces for signatures. It is not a reviewed legal contract or an e-signature service. The Musicians’ Union publishes guidance on live performance contracts.

Can I browse before signing up?

Yes. Approved artist profiles are open to everyone. You only need an account, a confirmed email and a reviewed venue profile when you are ready to send an enquiry.
